Our faculty places every student by age and experience, so dancers learn alongside classmates at the same stage. New to dance? Your first class is free.

Ages 3–6: Preschool & early dancers

Imagination, rhythm and the confidence to walk into class on their own.

Rhythm & Rhyme 1: Ballet and tap for 3-year-olds
Rhythm & Rhyme 2: Ballet and tap for 4-year-olds
Intro to Dance: Ballet and tap for ages 5–6
Tiny Tumblers: Beginning acrobatics for ages 4–6
Intro to Hip Hop: Fun, current moves for ages 4–6

Ages 6+: Technique for every style

Leveled classes from Elementary 1 through Advanced, placed by our faculty.

Ballet, Pre-Pointe & Pointe: The foundation for every other style
Tap & Jazz: Rhythm, musicality and strong technique
Contemporary & Fusion: For dancers with 3+ years of ballet and jazz
Hip Hop & Boys Hip Hop: Street styles seen on TV and in movies
Acrobatics: Tumbling, strength, balance and flexibility

Ages 13+: Teens & adults

Ways to keep dancing, lead, and stay strong.

R.I.P.P.E.D. fitness: High-energy conditioning for teens and adults
Teaching assistants & apprentices: Older students help teach our youngest classes
Classes for parents: Parents of students take class at 50% off

August

Classes begin

The dance year runs August through May and follows the Decatur City Schools calendar.
September

Bring-a-Friend Week

Friends dance free. If your friend enrolls, your registration fee is credited back.
October

Halloween Dress-Up Week

Dancers come to class in costume and families are invited in to watch.
December

The Nutcracker

Ballet students from Elementary 1 up perform at the historic Princess Theatre.
December

Family Visitation Week

A Christmas party in class and another chance for families to watch.
April

Recital pictures

Class photos in costume for the souvenir program, plus optional portraits.
May

Spring recital

Every student performs in a story-driven show staged like a Broadway musical.
Summer

Camps & Mini Sessions

Preschool Camp, Mighty Mini Camp and drop-in Mini Session days.

The Nutcracker

Every December at the historic Princess Theatre

Dancers Inc. produces Decatur’s only Nutcracker. It gives our ballet students a real theater, a full production, and an audience of their own neighbors every holiday season.

Who dances: Every student in Elementary Ballet 1 and above
When: The second weekend of December, after a week of rehearsals
Tickets: Sold online, with reserved seating

Competition teams

For dancers ready to commit to more. Our teams train together, travel to conventions across the Southeast, and perform in parades, schools, nursing homes and community events.
